Gravel Base Ltd supplies gravel, sand, soil and aggregates across the United Kingdom through this website. This page explains what we do with your personal information, why, and what you can ask us to do about it.
We are the data controller for the personal information described on this page.
Prices and availability depend on where you are. When you enter a postcode we store it together with a session identifier, your IP address and your browser's user agent string. We use this to show the right prices, to work out which depots can serve you, and to see which areas we are asked about most often.
We collect the name, delivery address, billing address, email address and telephone number needed to fulfil and invoice the order. We keep a record of what was ordered and where it went.
We store your message, your email address and your IP address, so that we can reply and so that we can trace abuse of the form.
We record which products are viewed in a session, and which are viewed together. This tells us what to show alongside each other. The record is tied to a session identifier, not to your name.
| Basis | What it covers |
|---|---|
| Performing a contract | Order details, delivery address, contact details. Without them we cannot deliver. |
| Legitimate interests | Postcode lookups, browsing records, and the IP addresses kept with orders and form submissions. Used to run the shop, show relevant products and protect the site from abuse. |
| Your consent | Analytics and advertising cookies. Only used if you agree, and you can withdraw at any time. |
| Legal obligation | Invoices and sales records, which we must keep for tax purposes. |
We do not sell your personal information.
If you agree to analytics and advertising cookies, information about your visit is shared with Google (Google Ireland Limited and Google LLC). We use Google Analytics 4 to measure how the site is used, and Google Ads to measure which adverts lead to orders. Google receives your IP address, the pages you view, and an identifier stored in your browser.
We also share data with the suppliers who deliver your order, our payment provider and our hosting provider.
Google may process data outside the United Kingdom, including in the United States. These transfers rely on the UK extension to the EU-US Data Privacy Framework and on standard contractual clauses.

We would ask that you contact us first, so we have a chance to put it right.
We update this page when our processing changes. This version was published on 26 August 2026.
A cookie is a small file your browser stores when you visit a website. Some are needed to make the shop work. Others measure how the site is used, or help us see which adverts lead to orders. The second kind is only used if you agree.
When you first arrive we ask you to choose. Nothing beyond the necessary cookies is set until you do.
These are always used. Without them you could not enter a postcode, keep a basket, or complete an order.
| Name | What it does | How long it lasts |

| CookieAccept | Records the choice you made in the cookie banner, so we do not ask again straight away. | 12 months if you accept 14 days if you decline |
These are only set after you select Accept. They are provided by Google.
