What are decorative Chippings?

Decorative chippings, also known as decorative stones or gravel, are small pieces of crushed rock or stone that are used primarily for aesthetic purposes in landscaping and garden design. Bulk bag or loose load

Smaller quantities go out as bulk bags of roughly 800 kg, delivered on a pallet network vehicle and set down kerbside on solid, level ground with a pump truck. If the bag has to go over a wall or hedge, choose the crane option and a HIAB lorry places it where you want it. For larger jobs a loose load tipper is cheaper per tonne, but the access route has to be at least 3.5 m wide and able to carry a heavy goods vehicle, and the material is tipped onto hard standing. Small jobs can also be ordered as 20 kg poly bags on a pallet.

How much to order

Work out length × width × depth in metres to get the volume, then convert to tonnes using the density shown on each product page. A depth of 40–50 mm suits a decorative surface and 50–75 mm a surface that will be walked or driven on. The calculator does the arithmetic for each material in this category.

Delivery times

Deliveries normally arrive one to three working days after payment clears. You do not have to be at home, but if nobody is there the driver decides where to unload, so leave written instructions if the spot matters. For quantities beyond a single load, ask for a quote.
