4-10mm Gravel: Practical Uses and Applications

Common Applications

  • Concrete Mixes
  • Drainage Systems
  • Pipe Bedding
  • Horticultural Grit

Whether you are tackling a construction site or a garden project, this gravel meets various needs. Its grading is particularly beneficial for drainage and horticultural purposes, aiding in effective water management and soil aeration.

Guidelines for Ordering and Handling Gravel

When ordering gravel from Gravel Base, note that there might be a size variation, with up to 10% larger or smaller pieces, as well as up to 10% fine material due to the sieve mechanism used during processing. Additionally, when purchasing in bulk, allow for slight variations in the quantity delivered. For orders of 4 tonnes or more, expect a 10% variation in volume, while orders below 4 tonnes may vary by up to 20%. Larger orders tend to have less variation due to the nature of the loading process.

Installation Preparation for Optimal Gravel Use

To achieve the best results, ensure the installation area is prepared properly. Clear the site and establish a stable base to maximise the effectiveness of the gravel in your construction or landscaping project. Proper compaction and levelling will enhance the stability and longevity of your work.

Please note that the stones are measured at the narrowest point. The sizes used on the page therefore refer to the technical measurement. Because the gravel is measured at the narrowest point, the actual size may vary slightly.
